There are moments when you read this book, and like so many Roald Dahl stories, you’re right there. You’re sitting with Matilda and Ms. Honey, eating bread with jam and sipping on tea while you talk about the things that kids pick up on and adults try and avoid looking at. About how our backgrounds shape us, but they don’t have to dictate who we become. And about the Ms. Trunchbulls of the world and how to live your own life despite them. I read this book for the first time as an adult and I loved it. I know I’ll read it again and enjoy it just as much the second time.
