Thanks for stopping by at D2 Books! I’m a naturopathic doctor, so what am I doing with a book site that features both health-related books and fiction? That’s a good question.

I like writing in both genres, and I gear my writing toward supporting the spirit of the individual in this modern world. Life today is tough, but especially on the person brave enough to stand on his or her own. People who want to live their own life stand out, which often doesn’t make life easy. Whether we talk about it or not, fitting in and conforming to a perfect image is a powerful pressure in this society. But there’s always a price to pay.

The strength and courage of the individual is most important to me in my writing–because that’s what I like to see triumph both in myself and in those around me. Let’s not allow ourselves to become endangered or extinct, or a slave to this society. Let’s stand up for the unique individual in each of us instead. The books featured on this site celebrate just that, whether they’re in the area of natural health or in fiction. There are only four books on display so far, but more are on the way. Check out the books that have been put out into the world by D2 Books and feel free to check out my blog and book reviews too, where we discuss the challenges of living as an individual in this society. Enjoy!

HEALTH BOOKS THAT BREAK THE MOLD.

Look, I’m just going to say it since we already know it.  The health care system in this society is incredibly limited.  Often, we are at the mercy of doctors giving us diagnoses and information we can barely comprehend, and after ten minutes, are sent home with a handful of pills with names we can’t pronounce that are supposed to miraculously make things better.  On the other end of the spectrum, in the natural medicine world, we are often so inundated with newfangled and often ridiculous amounts of supplements and therapies that also promise miracle cures.  Health is important to all of us, but unfortunately we often feel at the mercy of a healthcare system that is difficult to trust – not to mention very expensive.

The Health Books at D2 Books are here to help you take charge of your own health, and increase your odds of avoiding getting too caught up in the medical system. There are so many simple things you can do and learn for yourself that will increase your quality and longevity of life, yet these things are often overlooked in daily living.  These things are not extreme, costly, or torturous, and they can help prevent illness or improve the symptoms of an existing illness, and potentially even reduce your dependence on pharmaceutical drugs or other treatments.  The books here will help you to tie together your physical, mental, and life circumstances, and guide you along your own unique path towards long lasting vitality and zest for life.

GUARANTEED YOU’VE NEVER READ STORIES LIKE THESE.

In my opinion, all good fiction requires at least one character who embodies the nature of the indomitable human spirit.  Does that mean the characters in these books are superheroes?  Quite the contrary, the everyday heroes of these stories are people just like you and me, often faced with circumstances that compel them to dig deep for the core strength that lies within.  Also within these stories you will meet misguided or sometimes downright nefarious antagonists, the ones who in various forms seek to drain or destroy that very spirit which they want to steal as their own.

The specific works of fiction at D2 Books contain individual stories whose plots have no rhyme or reason.  They are as unlike and unconnected as you can imagine.  However that one connecting thread – the only one that truly matters – is the courageous battle we must all face at some point in our lives, where we choose to stand and confront these destructive influences in the name of protecting what we hold so dear.
